MISSION

WFIC Facts

Mission

WFIC helps Wisconsin’s private colleges build a pipeline of talent to the Wisconsin economy.

 

Founded

Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce founded WFIC on February 10, 1954.

 

Institutions

WFIC supports all four-year, accredited independent colleges and universities in Wisconsin.

 

Status

WFIC is a nonprofit corporation.  It is classified as a charity under regulations 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  All donations to WFIC are tax deductible.

 

Management

WFIC is managed by a private Board of Directors comprised of four business executives and three college presidents.  WFIC is advised by a Board of Governors made up of not more than thirty-three business and foundation executives and up to seven college presidents.

 

Audit

Accounts are audited by Grant Thornton LLP.  Copies of the audit are available upon request.

 

National Affiliation

Wisconsin Foundation for Independent Colleges is one of 35 state and regional associations affiliated with The Foundation for Independent Higher Education (FIHE).  FIHE represents 645 independent colleges and universities in the United States.
