Job Description: The nursing student intern will assist the Clinic Director in direct patient care. The intern will be responsible for rooming patients, assisting in patient assessments before and after doctor visits. The intern will assist the doctor with medical procedures as directed. The intern will assist in providing medication to patients and prepare the clinic for future patient appointments. The intern will learn lab values and inform patients of current lab results after review from the doctor. The intern will return patient phone calls as directed by the Clinic Director. The intern will also learn the application process to the Patient Assistance Program for medication dispensing at HealthNet. The intern will become an active participant in educating patients regarding medications, lab results, new diagnosis including, diabetes, hypertension, preventative medicine and eating habits to stay healthy. Job Description: Interns join our team of educators and volunteers in working with youth ages 2-14 in our Summer Camps. Interns help: 1) lead educational activities & lead Zoo camp tours for ages 2-14 (primarily working with ages 4-9), 2) help prepare classroom materials, 3) supervise and evaluate high school assistants, and 4) learn to analyze and develop thier skills as a career professional.
